Recommendation
IEEE must make it easier for members to opt-in/opt-out of certain type of communications (e.g., insurance & credit card offers).
.

Comments on Recommendation
This is a common complaint I hear from our members: Too much mail, especially for insurance and credit cards they don't want or need! We raised this issue during one of our breakout sessions at last year's spring board meeting, and it was mentioned that members can set these options in their personal profile to receive these types of mail-outs. This was news to most of us. And even with this knowledge that such options should exist, I still have trouble locating the correct check box that will stop the insurance offers from coming. Is it the "Postal mail" option under "IEEE communication method preferences", which looks like it will stop _all_ mail, even those that I would be interested in receiving? Or is it the check box under "Third party mailings" which allows "select organizations" to send me stuff via postal mail? IEEE members might wish to know what "select organizations" they are allowing to send them mail before opting in to this.
