Comments on Recommendation IEEE is easy to sell to academics but often harder for those in industry. Given that the IEEE is a technical society and contains a wealth of cutting-edge technical research, we feel that it could make an excellent value proposition by offering professional development as part of membership. By this we mean something better than the current webinars offered that are general intros to a topic and then try to sell a company's product or service.
